 Current Opportunities
I am always pleased to hear from potential undergraduate students, graduate students, and post-docs; if you are interested in joining our group please contact me. While I will have a few funded positions available every year (see below), there are plenty of scholarships and fellowships that can be applied to for unfunded projects. I can supervise undergraduate students from MUN (Honours Thesis or directed studies) if they are majoring in Biology or Psychology. Students from other departments will require a co-supervisor from their home Department.
Cognitive and Behavioural Ecology (CABE)
Graduate students joining my lab could be in Psychology (Experimental MSc or PhD) or Biology but would normally enroll in the interdisciplinary graduate CABE program, focused on animal behaviour and behavioural ecology. Faculty members part of this program are drawn from the Departments of Psychology, Biology, Ocean Sciences, the Environmental Science Division (Grenfell) and Marine Institute. Adjunct Professors from Environment Canada, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, the Newfoundland and Labrador Wildlife and Forestry Divisions and Parks Canada also contribute to student supervision and teaching.
Positions available
I am currently at the end of a funding cycle and cannot commit to students for the 2026 field season unless they bring in their own funding for at least one year (e.g., NSERC CGS-M, CGS-D). If you are interested in applying with our lab in mind please get in touch.
